Town Hall Meeting - Hosted by the Multistate Trust

Please join the Multistate Trust, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for a discussion about cleanup progress at the former Kerr-McGee Site.

Location: Genesis Dream Center at 1820 23rd Street North, Columbus

The Multistate Trust will:

  • Provide an overview of our cleanup activities 

  • Share what we have learned from our investigations

  • Update you on redevelopment planning

Final Day of the Public Comment Period for EPA’s Proposed Plan for cleanup of the Pine Yard area of the Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp - Columbus Superfund Site

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting public comments on the Proposed Plan for cleanup of the Pine Yard portion of the Kerr-McGee Chemical Corp – Columbus Superfund Site in Columbus, MS.

The 30-day Public Comment period will end Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. The EPA held a public meeting to discuss its proposed Site cleanup plan and answer questions Dec. 13 at the Genesis Dream Center in Columbus.

The Multistate Trust is already performing the cleanup work described in the Proposed Plan, and the activity will prepare a portion of the Site for reuse perhaps as early as 2019.
